Accepted Identification

Identification for all signing principals must be uploaded and approved prior to your scheduled E-Closing appointment. Any and all identification must be in an unexpired status, undamaged, and match the name(s) listed on documents.

Accepted Forms of ID

    • All information must be legible

    • Must be unexpired- Some states allow for driving privileges to continue beyond license expiration date, this does not apply for identification purposes.

    • Must be a physical drivers license, temporary paper licenses provided by a state DMV, copies, photos, etc. may not be accepted.

    • Must be a physical US Uniformed Services ID, temporary paper Service IDs provided by the US military, copies, photos, etc. may not be accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Law requires that you provide a form of personal identification on the approved list. By law, no other documents or certificates, such as social security cards, birth certificate, student ID, membership ID, etc. may be accepted.

  • Names on documents being notarized must match what is listed on the accepted form of identification. You may need to request adjustments be made to your documents by either your attorney, lender, or title company prior to your E-closing appointment.

  • Some states allow for driving privileges to extend beyond a license expiration date, this does not apply for identification purposes. No expired form of identification may be accepted. You will need to provide a current, valid form of ID from the accepted list.

  • By law, all information on an accepted identification must be legible. This includes the name, issuance date, expiration date, date of birth, address, issuing state or country, ID number, etc.
